The newly formed Duplin Optimist Club recently installed officers and seated a board of directors. The local chapter has 29 members who are dedicated to bringing out the best in kids. The club will sponsor a four man team captain’s choice golf tournament on June 19,2010. The tournament will be held at Rockfish Country Club, and the proceeds will benefit the Duplin County Boys and Girls Club.
The Duplin Optimist Club meets the second and fourth Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Rockfish Country Club. For more information visit www.nceast-optimist.org.
