If you’re looking for a unique holiday gift idea for someone special on your list, consider shopping at the Longleaf Arts & Craft Guild Gift Shop inside the Wallace Depot. You’ll find one of a kind handcrafted items for collectors and enthusiasts of all mediums there. They have a wonderful selection of pottery, art, crochet and quilted items in varying price ranges.

Totes and aprons with the Long Leaf logo on them are also available. The gift shop is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00-5:00.

How strong is your network?

During the November Chamber of Commerce meeting we were reminded that one of the important functions of the chamber is to provide the opportunity to network with other business people in the community. It is a truth that is too often forgotten.

There is no substitute for the face to face contact and sharing of ideas that networking affords. It allows for business people to get to know each other, and each other’s businesses and to learn from each other. In today’s business environment, it is vital to keep in touch with what other businesses are trying and finding to be successful.

The message made an impact. Following the speakers there was a spirited segment of conversation. Several people updated things going on with them, there were questions and conversation. It was what a chamber meeting is all about!
